In practice since 1990, Dr. Genstler has been a part of the Manhattan and Topeka communities for 17 years. She grew up in East Africa and Singapore, where her father served as a medical missionary and public health advisor, and received her medical degree from Loma Linda University in California in 1986. Dr. Genstler completed her ophthalmology surgical residency at the University of California at Irvine, where she served as chief resident during her final year of training. During medical school, Dr. Genstler also volunteered at the local community free health center and participated in mission trips to Mexico.
In 1990, Dr. Genstler completed a fellowship in correction of astigmatism and nearsightedness through the University of Utah. She is board certified by the American Board of Ophthalmology and a Fellow of the American Society of Cataract and Refractive Surgeons.
For the last 13 years, Dr. Genstler has become well known in Northeast Kansas for her surgical excellence, performing more than 10,000 cataract, refractive and laser surgeries. Her personable style and commitment to customized patient care make her a favorite among referring doctors.
