Dr. Philipp has been in practice for more than 35 years. He graduated from the University of Kansas Medical School and completed his ophthalmology residency at Wilford Hall USAF Hospital. Dr. Philipp served in the United States Air Force for 12 years, where he was chief of Ophthalmology Services at Kirtland Air Force Base in New Mexico. He retired from the military in 1979 as a lieutenant colonel.
Following his service in the military, Dr. Philipp started his own practice in Manhattan, Kan., and later joined Genstler Eye Center in 2005. In addition, Dr. Philipp serves as the chief medical officer at Mercy Health Center in Manhattan and is a member of the American Board of Ophthalmology and American College of Physician Executives.
Dr. Philipp and his wife, Sue, live in Manhattan and have two grown children. When he is out of the office, Dr. Philipp is very involved in his church and the Manhattan Chamber of Commerce.
